I regularly give introductions to a wide variety of films as well as guest lectures on topics related to film history and film practice – at the university, at conferences, and festivals. I have also curated various film series and held film courses.

Among other things, I have curated and held courses on “Film and the Apocalypse” and “Film and Exile” at the Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg, as well as put together film series on the First World War or the Road Movie.

When it comes to film introductions, the context is particularly important to me: I don’t want to fully explain and analyze the film in advance, but rather help the audience to classify the film. Who is behind it, in what social or political framework was the film made, how does the film relate to current events and film history? The interesting themes and aspects of the film are touched upon in such a way that the viewer can still discover the work for themselves.
